Ramon Rivera | Building God's Church

I was raised in the Humboldt Park / Hermosa neighborhoods of Chicago by a single mother and two older brothers. We were not a religious family. A simple invite to a youth group led to me hearing the Gospel and putting my trust in Jesus as a young teenager. Though this youth group I met my wife and as the saying goes, "the rest is history". My wife Diamond has blessed me with two wonderful children, Scarlett and Levi. In my early highschool years I became passionate about the Gospel and grew a desire to become a pastor. I am privileged to have served in many capacities including a small group leader, a youth pastor, and part of a preaching team. In March of 2019 my family and I became members at Renewal as part of the pastoral residency program. It is through this residency and current schooling that I am being trained for the work of ministry with hope of pastoring a church in the near future.
